Most contract moulders buy their tooling from external toolmakers, which creates an immediate disconnect between the people who designed the tool and the people running it. When something needs adjusting — and something always needs adjusting over the life of a tool — the conversation becomes complicated.
We do it differently. Our tools are designed and built here, by the same team that runs them. That means when a new job comes in, we design the tool for the specific machines we're using, with the process parameters we know work. The result is fewer problems at sampling and a tool that runs consistently from the first production run.
Prototype Tooling
If you need to move fast — to validate a design before committing to full production tooling — we can produce prototype tooling quickly. Prototype tools allow you to get first-off samples in hand for functional and cosmetic approval without the cost and lead time of a full production tool.
We'll tell you at the outset whether prototype tooling makes sense for your application, or whether the geometry is simple enough that going straight to production tooling is the better commercial decision.
Tool Maintenance
A well-maintained tool is the difference between consistent production and chronic quality problems. We maintain every tool we build across its entire working life. Scheduled preventative maintenance, wear part replacement, and modifications are all handled in-house.
If you're coming to us with an existing tool that was built elsewhere, we'll assess it before committing to run it. We won't take on tooling that's going to cause quality problems and then blame the tool when it does.
Tool Ownership
Your tooling is your property. We hold it in our facility under a clear custody arrangement. If you ever need to move it — though in practice most clients don't — there's no dispute about ownership and no retention of the tool against unpaid invoices. The tool belongs to you from the moment you've paid for it.
